Who performs the Nikah?
The Nikah is performed by our Imam, Sheikh Mostafa. He is a NYC registered marriage officiant. He can perform both Islamic ceremony and Civil marriage on the same day.

Does my Nikah mean I am legally married?
No. The Nikah ceremony only  means you are married according to the religion of Islam. You are not legally married until you obtain a marriage license from your local government, or go through the dedicated processes your local government has in place to legally marry its residents.

Do I need a marriage license prior to the Nikah?
Yes. You must bring a NYC marriage license or the Nikah will not be conducted.
